Community Guidelines

Last updated October 7, 2026

Draft for legal review. This page describes how the app works today, but it hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before launch.

On this page

  1. Be yourself
  2. Be respectful
  3. Keep it appropriate
  4. No money, no selling
  5. Respect privacy
  6. Adults only
  7. On calls and dates
  8. How to report someone
  9. What happens when someone breaks these guidelines
  10. Think we got it wrong?
  11. Changes to these guidelines

You+Love works when everyone feels safe and respected. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service, and every member agrees to them. They apply everywhere in the app, including profiles, chats, and calls, and on the dates you plan here. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.

Be yourself

  • Use your real first name and your real age.
  • Your photos must be recent, clear pictures of you.
  • Don’t pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your age, identity, or relationship status.
  • Have one account, and keep it yours alone.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, threats, bullying, or stalking.
  • No hate speech: nothing that attacks or demeans people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
  • No unwanted sexual comments or advances.
  • Take no for an answer. If someone doesn’t want to talk, meet, or turn on video, let it go.

Keep it appropriate

  • No nudity or sexual content in photos, prompts, messages, or calls. Photos in swimwear are fine; nude or sexually explicit ones aren’t.
  • Nothing violent, gory, or threatening.
  • Nothing illegal, including buying or selling drugs.

No money, no selling

  • Never ask a member for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or payment-app transfers, for any reason.
  • Don’t sell or promote anything, including businesses, services, or other apps.
  • No offering or asking for sex in exchange for money or gifts.
  • No scams, fake profiles, bots, or automated messages.

Respect privacy

  • Don’t record, screenshot, or share calls, photos, or messages without permission.
  • Don’t share anyone’s private information, like their phone number, address, or workplace.
  • Never share, or threaten to share, intimate images of anyone without their consent, including edited or AI-made ones. If it happened to you, see Remove an intimate image.

Adults only

You+Love is for adults 18 and older. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Anything that sexualizes a minor is removed, the account that shared it is removed, and we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Our Child Safety Standards explain more.

On calls and dates

These guidelines apply on calls and when you meet in person, too, and we act on reports about how someone behaved on a date. If you feel unsafe on a call, end it. If you feel unsafe on a date, leave, and call 911 if you’re in danger.

How to report someone

  • On a profile, tap the flag by their name. During a call, tap the flag at the top right.
  • To report a single photo, prompt answer, or message, hold it.
  • In a match, tap ••• at the top right.
  • After a call, use the Report or Block link under the questions.

Our team reviews reports within 24 hours, and urgent ones first. We don’t tell anyone who reported them. If you’re in danger, call 911 first. You can also email us at [email protected].

What happens when someone breaks these guidelines

Photos and messages are checked automatically. Nude or sexually explicit photos are refused, and messages that are clearly harmful aren’t delivered. When that happens, the app tells you why. A serious report can hide a member from new people while we look into it.

Depending on what happened, our team may:

  • Remove a photo, prompt answer, or message
  • Send a warning, which the member sees in the app
  • Limit an account, so new people don’t see it
  • Suspend an account until a set date. Paid events during a suspension are canceled without a refund or credit.
  • Remove an account. Its membership ends, its upcoming events are canceled, and its credits end. Someone we remove can’t sign up again.

When someone’s safety is at risk, or the law requires it, we may also share information with law enforcement.

Think we got it wrong?

If we took action on your account and you think it was a mistake, email [email protected] from the email address on your account. Tell us what happened, and we’ll take another look.

Changes to these guidelines

When we change these guidelines, we update the date at the top.
